What is QMRV?
QMRV stands for the quantification, monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions from a particular facility or region, and is a process that can be used to develop and promote more enivornmentally favorable practices for the natural gas indusry. For example, in June 2021, Cheniere announced a QMRV project in colloboration with five producers – Aethon Energy, Ascent Resources – Utica LLC, EQT Corporation, Indigo Natural Resources LLC and Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc. – in an effort to better understand the impacts that production has on the overall carbon footprint of the natural gas supply chain.
