The White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Task Force on Energy Project Streamlining have scheduled a meeting on Aug. 26 in Denver to discuss the formation of the Rocky Mountain Energy Council (RMEC), a state-federal partnership that would look for ways to streamline government handling of renewable and nonrenewable energy production and transmission projects. Phase Two of Tengasco Inc.'s pipeline system is now underconstruction following permitting by the Tennessee Department ofTransportation. The 28-mile mile project will complete the 60-milesystem, which ties Tengasco's Swan Creek gas field into end-usermarkets in Eastern Tennessee. The pipeline is the only intrastategas carrier in Tennessee.

Dynegy is moving forward with final permitting and constructionof its 800 MW generating facility in Rockingham County, NC.Construction will begin upon receipt of final environmental permitsand the plant will be in service in June of 2000.
