What is Thermal Gasification?
Thermal gasification may be the second most widely used method of producing renewable natural gas in the United States at present, but that is a very distant second from the more ubiquitously used anaerobic digestion process. Thermal gasification involves using drier feedstocks such as agricultural, plant and forestry residues, and applying high heat to break down organic molecules into biogas and carbon dioxide. The biogas is then upgraded to pipeline quality RNG.
