Texas Upstream Employment Shows Uptick Amid Record Permian Natural Gas, Oil Production

Employment in Texas’ upstream oil and gas industry rose by 1,600 jobs in July versus June, according to the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO).

Direct upstream employment totaled 194,100 jobs last month compared to 192,500 in June, the trade group said, citing U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

TIPRO found that there were 11,524 active unique job postings for the Texas oil and gas industry in July, including 3,641 new job postings added by companies during the month.
